Keeping Your Pets Healthy and Happy

Pets in most households are considered members of the family, which is why owners go out of their way to make sure their pets are healthy and happy. As it turns out, keeping your pet healthy and happy aren’t mutually exclusive. As you do one, you are doing the other.

Exercise

While humans typically loathe exercise, your pets love it. Physical activity is a must for every pet’s daily routine to keep them healthy and happy. From taking your dog for runs in the park to installing a wheel in your hamster’s cage, pets need and want to get around.

Good Diet

Like their owners, pets need a well-balanced diet to keep them from getting sick. And when your pet isn’t ill, it’s happy. Instead of relying on basic dry foods from the local grocery store, consider giving your pet premium wet food that’s leaner and more nutritious.

Yearly Vet Checkups

Make sure your pet is healthy and happy by taking it to your local vet for a yearly checkup. Your vet will give your pet the shots it needs to fight disease and give you advice to improve or maintain its health. Owners have trouble finding a reliable local vet, but you can easily find one online with resources like Canada 411 and other search engines.

Find Friends

Animals enjoy interacting with their own species, so if possible, make time for your pet to play with others at a dog park or neighbor’s home. There, your pet will be happy and get in play time that will help its health.

  • The Cerberus dog costume wins an honorable mention because it’s such an amusing addition to a dog. This costume, depicting a mythological creature, is found in many stories, including Harry Potter.
  • The pikachu cat deserves a spot in the mix. This costume, even though it’s painted on, is a cute replica of a cartoon that many kids born in the 80s watched avidly.
  • Umpa Lumpa dog has won a spot on the list. This costume has Charlie and The Chocolate Factory written all over it. Fortunately enough for the dog, it is something that most of us enjoy.
  • Skunk dog costumes wins an “awwww” on the funny/cute scale. This costume puts your pet into a stinky like state. Then again there is nothing that can say, “my dog stinks,” better than a skunk costume.
  • The Yoda dog also deserves a place in nerd fame cuteness. This costume, attracting all of the Star Wars fans, is sure to be a hit at any Halloween party.
  • One of the best costumes yet would have to be the Sarah Palin Pooch. This costume mimicking Sarah Palin makes a smashing costume in both political commentary and cute amusement.
  • Lion Dog is probably one of the best and worst of the dog costumes. It depicts I have a creative idea on how to shave my dog and also I am REALLY bored.
